Chris Houghton Withdraws From The Black Star
Chris Houghton has withdrawn from black Star after he was set to be the next coach of the team.

63-year-old Christopher Houghton has reportedly withdrawn from the Black Stars.
Chris who was expected to lead the West African Country to their fourth FIFA World Cup tournament having secured qualification ahead of Nigeria in a two-legged affair last two months now says NO.
He was interim technical advisor to the Black Stars in the two-legged playoff matches between Ghana and Nigeria.
It was earlier reported, that Chris will take charge of the team after the World Cup qualifiers against Nigeria since Otto Addo still has job to do with Dortmund.
However, information on the desk has it that the Ghana Football Association has completed talks with Otto Addo. With the German top-flight side approving the former Black Stars player to lead Ghana through the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and Qatar 2022.
Previous to the formation of the technical team, many Ghanaians were calling for Chris Houghton to be named the coach after Milovan Rajevach was sacked following a poor showing at the African Cup of Nations tournament in Cameroon. At the world cup playoffs, Otto Addo impressed many including the president of the republic Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was in his words said “we will kidnap you”.
The news, which did not go well with Chris Hughton has seen the withdrawal from the technical team.
Ibrahim Tanko who previously worked with the Black Stars under Coach Kwesi Appiah will form a partnership with the technical team as they aim at having a successful campaign in Qatar as compensation for their abysmal performance in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Cameroon.
Chris Hughton is currently unattached but still has eyes on Managing an English Premier League club next season.
Many Ghanaians would have been glad if this technical team was maintained because there seems to be great control and influence in all sectors. A lot of people will be heartbroken if it turns out that Chris Houghton has indeed withdrawn from the team.
