Everton are out of the bottom three after responding in the early fixture of match day nine against the Hammers. Goals from Bernard and Sigurdsson in both halves sprouted Marco Silva’s side.

Captain Seamus Coleman was out through suspension and replaced by Djibril Sidibe at right back. Dominic Calvert-Lewin dropped to the bench in place of Bernard as Richarlison started up front.

Manuel Pellegrini made a change at left back as Arthur Masuaku took the place of Aaron Cresswell. Pablo Fornals started and Andriy Yarmolenko dropped to the bench in two changes from the side that was beaten 2-1 by Crystal Palace.

Benard broke the deadlock in the 16-minute following a skillful display in the box. The Brazilian timed his run perfectly and latched onto Theo Walcott's through-ball. He initially opted against taking the shot before chopping back onto his right foot and beating Roberto at his near post.

Everton’s confidence flourished and they dominated West Ham. The Home team won majority of the balls and hit the Hammers with long balls aimed at Richarlison upfront. Walcott’s role in midfield by Silva has been connecting as the former Arsenal man was able to initiate attack and link play whiles restructuring the team whenever the ball was earned.

Walcott tested Roberto from a long way out in the 26-minute despite having Sidibe available to his right, and it was easy for Roberto to dive on once more. The home supporters again responded to the play in front of them as Walcott drifted in behind Masuaku to take down Iwobi's lifted pass but his audacious back-heel was blocked.

West Ham found it difficult to balance the game as the aggressive Everton side searched for a second goal as they enjoyed a touch of sustained pressure. Tom Davies was booked in the additional time after he prevented a quick West Ham free kick.

West Ham responded in the 51-minute after the break when Yarmolenko showed himself and immediately created a good West Ham chance. The cross-evaded Mina and Fornals dragged his right-foot shot a yard wide of Pickford's post.

Mark Noble, the captain of West Ham was replaced by Ajeti in the 73-minute as Ogbonna took the armband. Everton should have shown the Hammers the exit door but Roberto kept West Ham in the game. Sidibe found Alex Iwobi but his strike went straight at the West Ham 'keeper without panic. The Toffees kept wasting chances upfront. A little calm down in the yard box could have seen them hit a few past the Hammers.

Pickford kept Everton in the game following an impressive save in the 83-minute. Haller won the ball from Lanzini and Ogbonna swiveled in the box to see his shot hit the chest of Pickford.

Sigurdsson from the bench lifted the roof at Goodison Park in additional time. The Iceland International few meters from the edge of the box caught onto his right foot to whip this shot from outside the box into the top corner from Richarlison's pass.
