Children displaced by the fighting in the Democratic Republic of Congo

The Democratic Republic of Congo is in the midst of a catastrophe that has gone unnoticed.

According to the United Nations, the country has one of the world's greatest displaced populations, with more people fleeing their homes than in Yemen or Afghanistan.

Children make up about 42% of all displaced persons on the planet.

We chat with Blukwa, a 14-year-old boy who has found a home in an isolated camp on a secluded mountainside in the eastern portion of the Democratic Republic of Congo, where the violence is at its worst.

Unicef gave footage from the camp, as well as an interview, to the BBC.
