Special Prayers Offered for Yagbonwura

The Muslim Clerics of the Gonja Traditional Council have offered special prayers for the King of Gonja, His Majesty Yagbonwura Professor Sulemana Tuntumba Bore Essa, and the entire kingdom.

The Muslim Clerics also called ‘Sakpari’ in the local parlance was led by the head of the Sakpari and also Imam of the Yagbonwura, mallam Kassim performed the prayers at the Jakpa Palace to seek Allah's blessings and guidance since Yagbonwura's successful leadership from 2010 till now.

As part of activities at the Jakpa Palace whiles observing the COVID-19 protocols, the Muslim Clerics held the ceremony with very few numbers on Friday, March 12, 2021.

The Prayers were offered to seek more blessings and protection from the Almighty Allah for the King of the kingdom to continue to deliver his good works.

On his part, the Yagbonwura Prof Tuntunba Bore Essa I seized the opportunity to call for Peace and rapid development in Gonjaland as it has been carved as Savannah region.

The special prayer also focused on the government to create additional districts in the Savannah Region to enhance decentralization and decision-making processes to accelerate the development of the region.

The Overload was very instrumental in the creation of the Savannah Region by petitioning the central government and expressing interest for a region to be created and named Savannah Region to the benefit of the Kingdom.

As a peace-loving King, he was part of the three eminent chiefs who resolved the Dagbon chieftaincy disputes and many others.

The King supported by his able council of elders also resolved the Carpenter - Jugboi Chieftaincy Dispute, the Bole Chieftaincy Dispute, the Sonyor chieftaincy Dispute amongst many in Gonjaland in the Savannah region.

The Sakpari calls on Allah in HIS own wisdom to give the King a long life on the throne to continue his good plans for the Gonja Kingdom.
