Chief Of Bibiani Hwenapori Breaks Silence Over Death Of Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwia MCE -Appeals To Akufo-Addo To Appoint  Selfless MCE Like The Late Alfred Amoah
The Chief of Bibiani Hwenapori in the Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Area of the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwia Municipality in the Western North Region, Nana Ebiri Kwaku III, has stated that the chiefs and other traditional office holders in the municipality are deeply saddled by the untimely death of the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Mr. Alfred Amoah. The MCE died through road accident on Tuesday July 12 2022.

Consequently, Nana Ebiri Kwaku III, who is the member of Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Council appealed to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to, effectively consult the chiefs and key stakeholders and personalities in the grassroot levels in the municipality before appointing the new MCE.

He pleaded with the President to appoint the  dedicated and self-determined public servant like the late Alfred Amoah to steer administrative affairs of the Assembly to continue social and infrastructural intervention developmental agenda of the late MCE.

Nana Ebiri Kwaku III described the late MCE as a very fine gentleman, submissive, hardworking, humble and selfless personality who care for all and that the President should appoint a person who should have same personal character of Mr Amoah.

"I am calling on President Akufo-Addo to consult the chiefs, opinion leaders, other traditional office holders and key stakeholders in Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwia Municipality so that they would recommend a very selfless personality for the President to be appointed to replace the late Alfred Amoah," he stressed.

He pointed out that his appeal to the President has become necessary because they had seen at the very day that the news of the death of the MCE broke out in the area, some self seeking individuals who have questionable characters have stated lobbying for the position of the MCE.

These personalities, according to the chief, have repeated their lobbied tactics at the day that the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Mr Daniel Botwe and Member of Parliament (MP) for Sefwi Wiaso Constituency who doubles as the Minister of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr Kwaku Afriyie visited Sefwi Bibiani to console with the family of the late MCE.

Nana Ebiri Kwaku III urged the President and the state appointing authorities not to allow favoritism in the appointment of the new MCE to replace Mr Amoah, saying that there are unending internal fights within the New Patriotic Party in the area.
Mr Amoah and his driver, Samuel Gyasi died on Tuesday July 12, 2022 evening after the articulated driver reportedly veered into their lane and crash head-on with their vehicle at Akyem Fisher, near Bunso junction on the Accra-Kumasi highway.
A police situational report (SITREP) which puts the time of the accident at about 5:15pm, said the MCE and driver Gyasi were aboard a Nissan Patrol 4×4 with Registration Number GC 2060 -18 belonging to the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipal Assembly travelling from Accra towards Bibiani direction.
Speaking in an interview with journalist via telephone call on Monday July 18, 2022, the Chief of Bibiani Hwenapori expressed sadness over the passing of the outgoing Municipal Chief Executive for Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipal Assembly.
He conveyed his deepest condolences to Mr Amoah family, colleagues at Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipal Assembly, as well as the government and people of Sefwi Bekwai; praying God almighty to grant repose to the soul of the departed and comfort to all who mourn.
According to him, the death of the MCE is heavy blow to the people in the municipality and the nation as a whole, saying that; "We have lost a huge national asset.

The Chief Bibiani Hwenapori affirmed that the late MCE’s undeniable brilliance and legacies as a dedicated public servant will still remain in their minds, saying that the late MCE relates well to everyone in the municipality.
Nana Ebiri Kwaku III said "l am not praising Mr  Amoah because today he is died. But l can state that Mr Amoah is a very good person who shows gross respect to everybody.

The chief added that "whenever you approached Mr Amoah and requested from him to do something for you, even if he could not do it, the way and manner he will talk or speak to you, you may like it, l can say that we really lost a good citizen of Sefwi Bekwai."
According to Nana Ebiri Kwaku III, when the news broke out that the MCE was involved in a fatal accident, he was completely down and shocked to his bone.
He indicated that it was around 7:30 pm in the evening on Tuesday July 12, 2022 that a friend of mine called to inform him that "we lost the MCE though car accident.
"...and in fact l am aware that he was in Accra being part of the national Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs)
meeting with President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his colleagues, so we did not known that he is even coming back.
Three days before that fateful date that Mr Amoah would died in the car accident, the chief pointed out that the youth in Bibiani embarked on demonstration against the mining company in Bibiani.
He noted that "some of us were calling the MCE to tell us what we can do to resolve the problem between the company and aggrieved youth in Bibiani.
"So we spoke to our MCE via telephone call and l personally has also spoke to him to inform that the current President of National National House of Chiefs who doubles as the Paramount Chief of Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Area, Ogyeahohoo Yaw Gyebi has directed us to come to the demonstration scene to calm down the situation. So l may say that his death is a big blow to us."
Articulating on his personal relationship with the MCE, Nana Ebiri Kwaku III noted that Mr Amoah has assured "me to build a mordern public school in his community to boost education.
"So almost every time when l called the MCE, that topic has become the headline for which the MCE would would continue to assure me that "Nana Don't worry l would get you a modern school and that l am waiting for some mining fund so when it comes l would use parts of the money to build a mordern school in your community. l have not forget about you," Nana Ebiri Kwaku III sorrowfully repeated his early conversation he had with Mr Amoah before he joined his maker.
He noted that he would continue to remember Mr Amoah in life because before his installation as the chief of the area, the MCE being the Chairman of the Anhwiaso Bekwia DISEC he played the instrumental roles to protect his life.
