"I spoke with Ander Herrera, my good friend before Edinson signed because they’re also good friends – of course, they played together in Paris – and he told me that he will be a great addition for us.

"Straight away you can see he’s really focused on playing already and giving his best for the team and when you have such a great striker with such a scoring record and how professional he is and how his mentality has made him one of the best strikers in the world over the last years, it’s great to have him with us.

"I’ve tried my best to help him with the adaptation but I’m sure he doesn’t need a lot of help on the pitch and I’m sure he’ll be very good for us."
