Two brothers are in police custody for assaulting Police officers, injuring them, and causing damage to their accoutrements.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, when Inspector Richard Adu Sarkodie in charge of Detective Corporal Emmanuel Ntoso and CPA Charles Inkoom onboard service Vehicle Number GP 383 driven by Sergeant Rawlings Addo were returning from Asamankese court, and on reaching Osenase, police stopped for inquiries on pertaining crime.

Suspect Gally Kwasi aged, 19 years without any provocation started raining insults on Inspector  Richard Adu Sarkodie, “useless Police Officer, stupid, I mean you and I will teach you a lesson one day”.

"The Police driver, Sergeant Rawlings Addo then approached the suspect and threatened him with an arrest if he doesn’t stop that uncivilized act".

"The suspect became furious and attacked the Sergeant and in the process tearing the Police officer’s lanyard as well as his rank crown in his wear".

"This compelled police to arrest the suspect at the Police station but his elderly brother Gally Kwaku obstructed the police and in the process suspect Gally Kwasi hit Detective Corporal Emmanuel Ntosu’s forehand with an object".

He sustained a cut and started bleeding profusely.

Suspects Gally Kwasi and Gally Kwaku were overpowered and brought to the station for investigation.

A medical form was issued to Corporal Emmanuel Ntosu to attend the hospital for a medical check-up to confirm the assault.

The Suspects are in Police custody assisting ongoing investigations and are expected to be in court this morning.
