Bono East Regional: Coordinating Council to partner with Queen Mothers Association to fight against Teenage Pregnancies

The council is to partner with Nananom to intensify education on the consequences of Teenage pregnancy.

The Bono East Regional Coordinating Council is to partner with Nananom to intensify education on the consequences of Teenage pregnancies, Child marriages, and school dropout rates.

Honorable. Kwasi Adu-Gyan, Bono East Regional Minister knowing very well the dangers of this menace is of the view if is not squarely fought or discouraged would jeopardize the future of Ghanaian Children.

He believes Parents, Teachers, and school Children have major roles to play in this all-important campaign and has therefore charged the various Municipal and District Assemblies in the Bono East Region to prioritize sensitization to make sure our school girls are not impregnated, sent into early marriages or drop out of school.

Hon. Kwasi Adu-Gyan made this disclosure when Executives of the newly formed Bono East Regional Queen Mothers' Association paid a courtesy call on him and His Chief Director Mr. George Padmore Mensah at his office in the Regional capital Techiman.

For her part, Nana Serwaa Bonsu Brakatu 2nd Omanhemaa of Amantin Traditional Council and also the President of Bono East Regional Queen Mothers' Association said their visit was to introduce themselves to the Regional Administration and also declare their readiness to partner with the Coordinating Council or Government to pursue any form developmental agenda, especially the fight against teenage pregnancies and child marriages.
