Bono East: chief appeals to govt to fasten posting of graduate health workers in the house

Some health graduates are still in the house awaiting postings by the government.

Kronkonhene of Nkoranza Traditional Area, Nana Effah Guakro is therefore appealing to the government to fasten the postings process to boost the health delivery systems. He was speaking at the College of Health matriculation program at Kintampo

In addition, Nana Effah said Health students used to enjoy direct postings after graduation. However, students who completed in 2014 and beyond were denied this opportunity and had to stay home for some years before being posted. This, according to sources was attributed to IMF conditionality. The government has since then tried to post them in batches as and when there is clearance from the finance ministry.

At a ceremony to admit over 1700 students to offer various courses of health studies at the Kintampo College of Health, the Kronkonhene of Nkoranza Traditional Area, who doubles as the chairman for Kintampo Health Committee, Nana Effah Guakro appealed to the government to post those who have ir courses and have stayed home for about 3 years so that, they don't forget what they learned.

Dr. Kwabena Opoku Adusei is the Director of the college and he also appealed to the government to fasten the upgrading process.

He said, inadequate accommodation for students accounts for their inability to consider most of the applicants and therefore appealed for completion of an abandoned GetFund hostel facility for them.

"The College has used it IGF to put up ultramodern lecture halls building which is left furnishing to aid academic works", he stated.
