Blacko claims, "I saw this in my sleep every night," as he gets his BET HipHop Award

Black Sherif, who has had a remarkable career since starting out about four years ago, confessed in his victory speech that he dreamed about earning the prize.

He also mentioned how his tenacity had gotten him this far and extended an offer to everyone in attendance to go back to Africa, where they originated and were kings and queens.

"I dreamed about this every night. I began writing songs four years ago in a small Ghanaian town called Konongo Zongo, and nobody was ever going to be able to persuade me that I wouldn't be here or that my music wouldn't become popular around the world.

BET, God, my mother, father, and my crew deserve all the praise and gratitude in the world. I adore you all very much. Please remember that you are all royalty back home and extend a warm welcome.

This year's performance, which was recorded on Tuesday, October 3 from Cobb Energy Center in Atlanta, Georgia, celebrated 50 years of hip-hop with a nonstop party.

Black Sherif received the nomination for the second time in the category this year.
