Due to a lack of virgins, the dipo rites are in limbo in Kroboland

The elders of Kroboland are now asking with their people to speak and warn their daughters about participating in the rite since, in their opinion, if things carry on as they are, there won't be any more dipo.

Due to a lack of virgins, the dipo rites are in limbo in Kroboland

One of the rituals used to welcome women into maturity in Ghana is called a "dipo," which is also sometimes said to be the area's favorite ritual among the local men.

Ghanaians always place a high value on their culture, which is one thing they cherish.

Every tribe in the nation has an own culture, and they make an effort to teach the younger members about it and how it affects their life.

The younger generation does not appear to be interested in the culture or tribal customs, thus it appears that things are changing this time around.

The Krobo people, who execute the Dipo ceremonies for their young females to usher them into maturity, are one ethnic group that has been affected by this.

First and foremost, a woman must be a virgin and have never engaged in sexual activity with a man in order to be eligible for the dipo.

The ladies of Kroboland used to be extremely proud of this ritual, but according to some of the country's elders, it is now difficult to recruit virgins to participate.

They claim that the number of virgins from Kroboland is decreasing day by day and over time, to the point where at one point they were unable to even find a single virgin woman from the Shai Osudoku District.
