Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour will undergo a medical with Norwich City today ahead of his loan move to Carrow Road.

The Blues coach -- Thomas Tuchel is keen for Scotland International to get regular first-team football next season as Gilmour is regarded as a future star at Stamford Bridge.

With N’Golo Kante, Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic ahead of him in the pecking order, the 20-year-old has been given the green light to leave the club on a temporary basis.

According to Sky Sports News, Newcastle United have also been interested in a loan move and the Canaries are now on the verge of sealing a move.

Gilmour is expected to be handed a key role in Daniel Farke’s newly-promoted side.

The youngster could be the first of several departures at Chelsea over the coming weeks and months with Olivier Giroud also heading towards the exit.

The France international has reportedly agreed on a deal to join AC Milan despite the club triggering a contract extension last month.

His countryman Tiemoue Bakayoko also wants a return to the Rossoneri having not played for Chelsea since the 2017-18 season, turning down an offer of a new contract from the Blues.
