The Assembly Member for Kyirebaa Electoral Area in the Berekum East Municipality of the Bono Region, Honorable Lord Kwame Yeboah has set a trap to arrest a forman working with Sinohydro road contractor in Berekum.

The Assembly Member for Kyirebaa Electoral Area in the Berekum East Municipality of the Bono Region, Honorable Lord Kwame Yeboah has set a trap to arrest a forman working with Sinohydro road contractor in Berekum.

Narrating what contributed to the arrest, the Assembly Member disclosed that he has contracted men to monitor situations in his electoral area.

These men according to him,  yesterday 20th March 2022 at about 2:30 pm managed to arrest a forman (name withheld) carrying a number of cement belonging to the Sinohydro Contractors constructing the Berekum inner roads from Kyirebaa to Mptapo into the bush.

According to the Honorable Lord, his men arrested the man at the construction of the bridge between Kyirebaa and Mpatapo ongoing ring road.

"There have been numerous complaints about the consistent thievery of cement meant for the inner city roads, a situation which has been affecting the work of the contractors. So I set my men to monitor the site at night and we caught him", he explained.

"After our interrogations with him, he was later handed over to the Berekum Police for further investigation and he is currently behind police bar", the AAssemblymembertated.

Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, on Friday, September 25, 2020, cut the sod for the development of 10-kilometer Berekum town roadways.

The sod-cutting ceremony was fulfilled with exhilaration by the Chiefs and individuals of Berekum at a durbar, and they expressed their gratitude to the Akufo-Addo authorities for prioritizing their deteriorated roads which have been abandoned for years.
