Bayern Munich have asked Liverpool to up their transfer bid for Thiago Alcantara following the Reds first offer.

Liverpool earlier presented £18m for the Spaniard but the Bavarians want a doubled figure of the Reds former and talks are ongoing.

Thiago has already made intentions clear to Bayern that he wants to restart his career in the Premier League – having enjoyed seven years of playtime at the Allianz Arena.

The Bundesliga outfit are reluctant to let the 29-year old leave for free as his current contract is set to expire next season yet their options are limited and would prefer to let the attacking midfielder leave at a reasonable price.
