Troy Deeney has backed Pierre Emerick Aubameyang to regain his goal-scoring form despite his recent lacklustre in games.

The Watford forward still believes that the Gabonese will hit 20 goals at the maximum this season when things start working for him.

Aubameyang has two goals for Arsenal in the current campaign of the Premier League after eight games. His dip in form is affecting the Gunners following their recent 3-0 loss at home to Aston Villa on Sunday night.

He was joint golden boot winner with 22 goals alongside Salah and Mane in 2018/19 season. He repeated the same number in the 2019/20 season although he lost the accolade to Jamie Vardy who was on 23 goals.

Troy Deeney says it’s too early to rule the no. 14 out of the goal scorer’s chart for he will soon recover from the new season’s demanding fixtures.

“He’s just having a bit of a slow start. Would you still think he’s going to score 20 goals this season? I think he would score that many. When he gets going he’ll be right up there.”

Calvert Lewin and Mohamed Salah have each scored eight goals and are top joint scorers in the Premier League after Matchday eight.  Son and Vardy are on seven each whiles ollie Watkins and Callum Wilson have scored six for themselves.
