Luis Suarez is on the radar of Atletico Madrid.

The former Liverpool man has been told to find a new club by Ronald Koeman, ruling his chances of featuring for the Blaugrana’s this season.

Suarez had Juventus as his probable destination, travelling to Perugia last Thursday to take an Italian exam in order to try and qualify for Italian citizenship having earlier reached an agreement with the Bianconeri regarding personal terms.

Juve’s sporting director, Fabio Paratici has rescinded to their decision of signing the Barcelona forward due to failure to get hold of an Italian passport by the time documentations will be finalized, with the transfer window a few weeks away.

He's not on our shortlist because of the time it takes bureaucratically to obtain a passport," Juve's sporting director, Fabio Paratici, told Sky Sport Italia before the Bianconeri played Sampdoria.

"When there was the chance for him to come, we looked into it and the citizenship issue was an obstacle.

"It wasn't possible to cut the time, so we had to pull out."

TalkSPORTS reports that Atletico Madrid have made the Uruguayan their number one target as a free agent. Italian sports journalist, Fabrizio Romano tweeted that the deal would be possible if the 33-year-old finds a way to part ways with Barcelona.
