Xavi Hernandez has explained that managing Barcelona at the time of the offer was not right.

The manager of Al Sadd in Qatar earlier turned down the opportunity to become the Barca manager following the exit of Ernesto Valverde calling it “too early” to return.

According to him, he received an offer from his former team but after accessing his chances at such a top level, he opted to continue his role at Al-Sadd.

In an interview with Samuel Eto'o on the newly launched Spanish Instagram account of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 (@roadto2022es) where they were talking about their roles as Supreme Committee ambassadors, Xavi once again reiterated that, “In January, it wasn't the right moment."

"I had conversations with [Eric] Abidal and [Oscar] Grau and a big offer, but it wasn't the right moment.
