Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District Police Command arrested 38 people who whip two police officers for arresting two suspected people who allegedly defiled a 16-year-old girl.

The Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District Police Command on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, arrested 38 people at Breman Agawase in the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District of Central Region. 

Explanation from District police commander, Chief Superintendent Emmanuel Odokoh Baah to Central Regional Soireenews Correspondent, Abusuapanyin Kojo Ahinful indicated that two people from the community called Emmanuel Donkor, 19 years and Kofi Shaibu 22 defiled a 16 years old girl which the case was reported to Breman Brakwa police station.

A police officer and community police went to the community to arrest the suspects and after seizing them, they were attacked and beaten massively by a section of youth in the community.

This led to a swoop of police led by a police commander who went to the community to arrest 38 people. Some of the community members run into the bush.

The commander told that some of the arrested people are very old and will be screened to go home whiles others will proceed to court soon.

He updated that all the 38 people are still are in the custody of the police.
