The National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) in Ashanti Region has recorded 470 deaths in road accidents in the last 10 months.

The number indicates a 12 per cent increase compared to the same period last year.

Speaking at a road safety campaign program at Obuasi, Regional Public Relations Officer of the NRSA in the Region, Pearl Adusu Gyasi, provided updates to journalists describing it as alarming.

The event organized by the Obuasi Area Movement of the Apostolic Church - Ghana , targeted drivers and other road users, following the increasing rate of road crashes in the Municipality and the region at large.

A national superintendent for the Mens' Movement for the Apostolic Church- Ghana, Apostle Dr Samuel Tetteh Walker stressed the need to join the campaign to reduce road crashes in the country.
