Ashaiman Has Been   Neglected By NPP  Government -Youth Declare
The people of Ashaiman Constituency in the Greater Accra Region including the Member of Parliament (MP)for Ashaiman, Mr.Ernest Norgbey are up in arms against the government of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for the seeming neglect they have suffered over the six years.
They claimed that they have supported the country with more natural resources, but their efforts have always been rewarded with total neglect, adding that not a single kilometer of road has been constructed by the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the past six years in Ashaiman.
Some residents have expressed their disgust at how the area lacks certain critical infrastructure, especially roads, to help them make free movement in the area, the situation they lamented made life unbearable for them.
In a recent visit to the Ashaiman community to ascertain the fact of the matter, the residents, particularly traders congratulated their MP for initiating rehabilitation works on some deplorable roads in the Ashaiman community recently.
According to them, because of the poor nature of the roads in the area, they found it extremely difficult to move freely within the area which situation is affecting their business activities.
"We are warning the government of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo that he should not tell us that you have captured any road in Ashaiman community in the national budget again," the angry residents warned the government.

The residents make particular mention of the Adjei Kojo to Sator road, Ashaiman Newtown through Kowaanaso road to Afariwa junction are the major very nasty roads within the municipality but the government is not doing any to fix the deplorable situation.
It would be recalled that Mr. Norgbey speaking on Citi FM lamented the deplorable nature of the road networks within the Ashaiman community.

He pointed out that he has made several efforts to get the Ministry of Roads and Highways to fix the poor nature of the roads in his constituency but all have failed.

He also said the constituency deserved better from local government because of the various levies residents pay.
“We pay tolls. We pay market tolls, we pay taxes, and they [the assembly] take money from the community; even property rates, etc. At least we can get some money to do something,” Mr. Norgbey retorted.

The MP further urged the government to at least support his intervention in the constituency.
“If the government or the assembly is minded, they should come and put some bitumen on it, and it will last a bit longer,” Mr. Norgbey said.
