The Social and Community Development Superintendent of Perseus Mining Ghana Limited  (PMGL), Mr Emmanuel Danso, has denied wide spread media reports that the company has engaged the services of armed police officers from the Central Regional Police Command to the farmlands in Breman in the Upper Denkyira West District of the Central Region to force hundreds of cocoa farmers to give out their lands to Perseus Mining to prospect gold resources.

While admitted of being aware that there had been police deployment from the Central Regional Police Command to Denkyira Breman purposely to protect lives and properties belongings to the company, Mr Danso was quick to state that the company has not engaged the police officers to harass or attack anyone or farmer on their lands.

"We have not aware of these falsehoods information that is being peddled around. I want to say on authority that there are police officers presence in the area to protect lives and properties. That what l know. 

"Apart that nobody has sent police officers there to harass anyone or farmer on his/her land to forcibly go and work on his or her farmland as being reported in the Kessebyfm online. We have laid hands on these fake publication and we are preparing to respond to the story in the appropriate times," Mr Danso stressed.

According to him, the multinational gold mining company would not do any harm to the residents in its host communities and that the company respect the fundamental human rights of all the people in its host communities.
