Prestea NDC MP In Fresh Trouble Over Poor  Performance

Prestea NDC MP In Fresh Trouble Over Poor  Performance
The leadership of the group at the press conference
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for Prestea Huni Valley Constituency of the Western Region, Mr. Robert Wisdom Cudjoe has incurred the wrath of the members of registered youth group calling itself Prestea Communicators for Development (PCD) for performing poorly in his one year period of representing the constituents in Parliament.
At a crowded press conference held in Preatea on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, the leadership of PCD in the persons of Mr. Samuel Andoh Philip Gyan and Ebenezer K. Mensa expressed disappointment in their MP for his poor performance which outcome is adversely affecting social-economic growth and development in the electoral areas of the constituency.

The group rated their current MP for scoring 10 percent in the 365 unimpressive days he was elected by the constituents to represent them in the area.
As per the constitutional mandate since the coming into force of the fourth Republican Constitution, the group pointed out that Ghanaians and for that matter, the people of Prestea Huni Valley lined up on 7th December 2020 to elect their President and Member of Parliament for the ensuing four years.
According to the group, the election saw the former DCE of the area, Mr. Robert Wisdom Cudjoe being elected with a huge margin in votes garnered over the incumbent MP, Lawyer Mrs. Barbara Oteng-Gyasi.
The group indicated that it was expected that with such massive endorsement, Hon. Cudjoe would mesmerize his constituents with a sterling performance by honouring his campaign promises and delivering development to the good people of Prestea Huni-Valley.

The group noted that Hon. Cudjoe has received two-quarters of his Common Fund and other allocation of funds but has failed to start a single project in the Municipality or honour a single campaign promise from the numerous promises he made before the election.
"It has been 365days of no project lobbied, 365days of no school block initiated,  365days of no CHPS compound started or renovated, 365days of no mini market built or renovated, 365days of no reshaping of roads, 365days of no scholarship opportunity for our Youth,  365 days of no provision of school furniture, 365 days of no ICT  equipment, 365 days of no Job opportunity for the youth even though he is a member of the employment committee of Parliament. However if the MP has delivered any of these to the constituency then he should provide the information," the PCD mentioned.
The PCD was saddened by the fact that for the first time in the history of the Municipality our MP chose not to attend the farmers day nor provide any support towards the celebration, BECE and WASSCE candidates who until his tenure were provided  Mathematical sets and other assistance ( such as free vacation classes) before their exams were sadly ignored by the MP this year.
"Instead of him being focused and lobbying both locally and internationally (as the former MP Lawyer Barbara Oteng-Gyasi did) to bring the much-needed development to the people of the area, he has rather resorted to running commentaries on radio stations and financing his party communicators to sing empty praises regarding a single question he asked on the floor of Parliament which up to now has not yielded any positive outcome. Indeed, it's easy for any well-meaning constituent to conclude from the above that, the Municipality is in a deep crisis due to his poor performance.
"Thanks to Lawyer Mrs. Barbara Oteng-Gyasi and the Municipal Messiah Dr. Isaac Dasmani (MCE) the journey has been fairly bright and there is hope going forward. For the sake of our fellow Media Personnel, we would like to highlight some of the projects and things she(Lawyer Mrs. Barbara Oteng-Gyesi) did in her first 12months as MP (construction of five boreholes in Bonsaso, Kangakrom, Prestea No 1, Wassa akuapim and Nfantiskrom.
"Construction of a bridge in Nfantekrom, Provided scholarship to some tertiary students in the Constituency, supported WASSCE and BECE students in the Constituency and others) Even as a former legislature, her contributions towards her constituents over the past 12months is highly commendable; the year started with the annual Christmas/ New Year Children's party at Insu first week in January 2021, then later donation of items ( wheelchairs, white canes, clutches, etc) worth twenty thousand Ghana cedis (GHC 20,000) to person's with disability in the Municipality, supported the cost of surgery for a child with Hydrocephalus ( swollen head), Distribution of laptops to selected tertiary students in the constituency.
The former MP also donated Covid 19 safety items to Christian Hope Academy School at Huni-Valley, supported the youth of Aboso and Huni-Valley to participate in the Green Ghana Day to plant trees in their communities, provision of 100bags of Cement towards completion of Community Centre at Aboso Layout commenced during her tenure, Donated T-shirts and cash to Aboso FC U-17 Team.
Additionally, the former MP supplied furniture valued at about Ghc20,000 for KG Block at Koduakrom constructed with her GET FUND allocation, lobbying for the inclusion of PHV in Girls in ICT Project resulting in 30 girls receiving laptops under the program, supported 15 youth who graduated from apprenticeship program with GHC 1000 and Hairdryer each and ten industrial machines for seamstresses valued at G¢20,000, Donated cables worth GH¢ 10,000 and 10,000 cedis cash to the contractor for electrification of the Prestea Government Hospital Children's Block (a project she started whilst the MP and has pursued to completion), Donated Chevrolet Single Cabin Pick up to the Best Female Farmer and 50 pieces of cloth to all award winners at the 2021 farmers day celebration.
She donated a tricycle and ten pieces of modern garbage bins to Zero Waste Bosomtwe to aid Sanitation in Huni-Valley, funded the rehabilitation works on Aboso Brigade Camp 3unit  school block at a cost of GHC 70,000, Initiated construction of a Youth Skills Training Centre at Wassa Nkran on International Women's Day 2021 which is ongoing, assisted the survivors of the Esikuma Disaster and finally rehabilitated Aboso-Wassa Nkran to Esikuma road to end the year," the group mentioned.
The group commended the President, the chiefs, and hardworking Assembly members for the appointment and subsequent approval of the MCE, Isaac Damani.
The group stated that it has been less than a year since his appointment and approval as MCE in the second term of the President yet his name is on every lip of the Constituents, it's therefore not surprising to hear people call him "The Municipal Messiah."
The PCD said the MCE has within a year constructed a drainage system at Prestea Scott stadium, organized the Best Farmers Day celebration in the history of the Municipality, started construction of the Bogoso market, Bondage market, construction of ultra-modern District court complex, and Judge's Bungalow at Bogoso.
It indicated that the MCE renovated the existing circuit Court in Prestea, presented dual desks to the Education Directorate, constructed of 6unit classroom block at Bayeragya, completion, and commissioning of 6unit classroom block at Prestech, construction of 6unit classroom block at Gyimakrom, construction of 1CHIPS compound at Yawkrom, Construction of 3unit classroom block at Bogoso, Construction of 6unit classroom block at Ayensukrom.
The group maintained that the MCE  constructed 2 unit KG block at Obengkrom, Construction of 36 bridges across the Municipality, Construction of ICT center at Bogoso, and most significantly the innovative idea dubbed "community support initiative" which seek to support communities with expertise and capital resources and the community assist with labour (human capital) in bringing development in terms of markets, CHP compounds, Community centers, and schools.
To this end, the group sounded a word of advice to their MP to sit up, lace his boots and get to work by applying his Common fund judiciously and lobby for a massive project for the people or face the wrath of the youth in the coming years.
The group told their MP that it is easy to use propaganda to win an election but your performance will expose you.
