Former Liverpool player, John Barnes has welcome that Philippe Coutinho would best suit the Gunners style of play if he opts for the Premier League this season.

The little magician, much known during his time at Anfield will end his Bayern loan spell after the Champions League campaign and would be required to return to his parent club to await his next destination.

Coutinho has fallen out at the Camp Nou and is reportedly looking for a new club after Bayern made their intentions known earlier that they will not activate his release clause when the season ends.

After rejecting Manchester United due to the respect he has for the Reds earlier before the start of the season, Coutinho is likely to make a Premier League return with Spurs, Chelsea, and Arsenal all willing to sign the 29-year old on loan.

“I don’t think Tottenham would be interested,” Barnes said.

"As I don’t know if the way that José Mourinho likes to play will suit him, as he likes the ball and having a lot of possession, whereas Mourinho doesn’t necessarily play that way.

“Arsenal could be the best club with the style of football they play. Chelsea could be another good match, because of the way Frank Lampard sets up his team, so with that in mind, Arsenal or Chelsea would be the best solution for him.

“I don’t think he will go to Manchester City, to be honest. Pep Guardiola would be able to get the best out of him but there are often times that he has been in a successful team already, and he hasn’t been able to show off as much as he would like.”

Coutinho will have the chance to feature in the Champions League finals against PSG on Sunday as he seeks his first European medal, having missed Liverpool's Champions League win last season.

He scored two goals in three minutes against Barcelona in their 8-2 demolition by Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-finals.
