Jey Luchy has stated that an artiste cannot succeed without a proper fanbase.

According to him, artistes "blow" because of the number of fans they are able to convince to like their songs.

The "Get Out of My Way" crooner outlined the integral roles that fans play in the career of artistes in Ghana's music industry in an interview on eTV Ghana’s Late Nite Celebrity Show with the award-winning Foster Romanus.

As both rapper and music producer, Jey Luchy explained that he has seen first hand the impact of a proper fan base in artistes lives.

He claimed that the impact is more than that of artistes helping each other out.

“When you do collaborations, it doesn’t just end there. We need to put in more support and see the music as a business. We’re here to make money and not just to make noise or put out one or two songs so we need to see our music as a business and treat it as such”, he said.

“The support we see here is not like outside. We don’t have a problem with the fans because we have a massive fanbase and serious people that love music in Ghana. Our fans are everything and without the fans, no artiste would even blow in Ghana so the fans are just number one when it comes to supporting but the problem is with the artistes and the industry itself”.

With that said, Jey advised that Ghanaian artistes show more interest in each other's works.

Jey Luchy theorised that only when artistes selflessly invest in each other would the Ghanaian industry move from its infantile stage forwards.
