Alhaji Imoro Bashiru elected as NPP Tamale Central Constituency Chairman, 3 areas suspended

Alhaji Imoro Bashiru yesterday constituency elections at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium garnered 693 total votes against his contender, Alhaji Abdullah Yakubu who apollo polled 181 votes.

A business man, Alhaji Imoro Bashiru has been elected as the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Tamale Central Constituency Chairman with a commanding lead against his rival.

The Chairman elect at the end of polls at the yesterday's constituency elections at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium garnered 693 total votes against his contender, Alhaji Abdullah Yakubu who managed to polled 181 votes.

Alhaji Bashiru speaking to Soireenews after the elections appealed to party folks in the constituency to give him a maximum support for him to rollout the plans he has for the constituency.

He expressed optimism to rescue power from the current NDC's member of Parliament to the Governing New Patrotic Party (NPP).

Alhaji Bashiru used the opportunity to thank the constituency polling station executives for the resounding victory.

Hajia Rashida Abdullai, the constituency women's organizer elect assured her readiness to make women in the Constituency firm ahead the 2024 general Elections.

She noted that, one of her priorities is to improve the livelihood of the women wing by showing them how to 'fish and not how to eat fish'.

An Aspiring Northern Regional Women's organizer of the party, Hajia Rahi Yahaya expressed excitement how the aspirants conducted themselves for a peaceful elections.

She however urged the elected executives to bring the losers on board, this she believed will help break the 8 years.

Hajia Rahi further appealed to leadership of the party to be fair to all aspirants who are contesting for Regional positions.

Meanwhile, only three constituencies in the Northern Region were suspended from taking part in the elections due to issues of missing names and including unknown individuals in the voter register.

The constituencies include Savulugu, Yendi and the Nanton constituency.
