Ahafo Region: Tano North and South MCE nominees gets approval

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Nominees for Tano North and South in the Ahafo Region, have received approval from Assembly Members.

Assemblymembers in the various municipalities and districts of the region on Wednesday, September 30, 2021, commenced the processes to either reject or approve the nominees made by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

At the Tano North Municipality, elections concluded smoothly with the nominee, Hon. Ernest Kwateng receiving a massive endorsement from all the 36 assembly members that voted.

“I am grateful for your cooperation. Now we have assembly members, 36 eligibility voters and at the end of it, all the 36 said yes to the president’s nominee.

“On behalf of the electoral commission and the powers granted by the constitution, I nearby declare the president’s nominee Ernest Kwateng as the MCE elected for Tano North,” Grace Martha, the Municipal Electoral Officer for the Municipality declared after the elections.

In the Tano South Municipality the Nominee Hon. Collins Offinam Takye got 57 out of 59 eligible votes 

Addressing the assembly members after the declaration, Ernest Kwateng has assured that he will work hard to bring development to the area.

“I will ensure Development, progress is brought to this municipality.

"To achieve this I will continue to introduce more resources to help to improve the assembly revenue mobilization.

Voting to confirm or reject Asutifi North and South DCE nominees respectively resume today, Thursday.
