The workaholic Member of Parliament (MP) for Agona East Constituency in the Central Region, Honourable Queenstar Maame Pokuah Sawyerr has performed a sod-cutting ceremony on Saturday, October 2, 2021, for the construction of two community centres for the people of Agona Kenyankor and Agona Fuahia No. One.

According to the female legislator, what had informed her decision to build the centres was primarily because she was of the view that the current situations of the old community centres in these farming communities were very inconveniencing when it rains.

This, she stressed has necessitated the decision to construct new community centres befitting the status of the Kenyankor community and that of  Fuahia No.1.

Speaking in an interview with the Journalists, Mrs Pokuah Sawyerr noted that the traditional authorities of the Agona Kenyankor and Agona Fuahia No. One had made the libations to seek protection from the ancestors.

Community centres are public locations where members of a community tend to gather for group activities, social support, public information, and other purposes. 

They may sometimes be open for the whole community or for a specialized group within the greater community. Examples of community centres for specific groups include Christian community centres, Islamic community centres, Jewish community centres, youth clubs etc.
