There has been an increase in food prices due to the bad roads and Yam sellers in the Bono East have attributed the factor to poor roads.

Yam sellers in the Sunyani Municipality made known to Ark news monitored by Soireenews regional correspondent, Nana Ama Asiedu that those in the Yam Business from Techiman to Sunyani lamenting over the challenge they go through as drivers charge them higher prices.

 Some traders of foodstuff attributed the situation to bad roads resulting in the increase of lorry fare.

Soiree news has been speaking with some foodstuff sellers in the market to find out what is the current state and prices of food, and what the future holds as it is anticipated to even increase.

They however called on the government to fix the road network that supplies many with food from other parts of the region and beyond.

They have anticipated that a challenging new Yam season fueled with poor rainfall pattern hasn’t been too good.

The desperate traders also said the increase in petrol prices is also a contributory factor to the drivers increasing their charges.
