African Union appeals for calm after Kenya protests
Religious groups in Kenya have also urged President William Ruto and Mr. Odinga to hold unconditional talks.

Following opposition protests in Kenya that descended into violence and claimed three lives since last week, the African Union has pleaded for peace and asked for dialogue.
Following the election of last year, opposition leader Raila Odinga called for protests against the high cost of living and what he terms electoral justice.
Moussa Faki Mahamat, the head of the AU, urged "stakeholders to exercise calm and engage in dialogue to address any differences" in a statement.
He claimed that the 2016 polls were "successfully" conducted and that the Supreme Court upheld the results.
According to the statement, "The Chairperson reiterates the total solidarity with and support to the government and people of Kenya's efforts working towards national unity, peace, and stability in the country."
