The Queen Mother (Ohemaa) of the Sefwi Ahokwah community in the Sefwi Wiawso Municipality, Obaahema Afia Ayewaah has advised pupils of Ahokwah M/A Junior High School (JHS) to stay away from early sex to avoid teenage pregnancy.

Obaahema Afia Ayewaah stated that her priority for any elderly in the communities is to give out her advice to the girl child to desist from teenage pregnancy.

She emphasized that not only parents can train or bring up a child but is a collective responsibility.

Sefwi Ahokwah Hemaa in an interview with Soiree News reporter cautioned parents to have a good relationship with their children especially the girl child to share the challenges they face at the adolescent stage.

Obaahema Afia Ayewaah made the call when she visited Sefwi Ahokwah M/A junior high school to sensitize them on the risks involved in teenage pregnancy.

The Headmaster of the school, Mr. Adame Aboagye on behalf of the school management expressed their profound gratitude for such a move by the Sefwi Ahokwah Hemaa.

He pledged that he together with the teachers will also do their best to teach the students the dangers involved in getting pregnant at an early age as well as educate them on the perils of becoming a teenage mother.
