Asafoatse of Ablekuma, Obubour Onsuro-gya who is known in his Muslim name as Alhaji Idrisu Lartey, has admonished Ghanaian Islam worshipers to embrace unity and peace during Ramadan.


Highlighting the importance of upholding Islamic values, the traditional ruler emphasized the need for Muslims to refrain from acts of gangsterism and immorality, and instead focus on personal growth and positive contributions to society.

Speaking in an interview with Soireenews. com, Alhaji Idrisu Lartey called on Muslims to prioritize peace and unity during the month of Ramadan.

He stressed the significance of unity, togetherness, and brotherhood in fostering societal development, urging Muslims to exemplify these qualities for the greater good.

He underscored the importance of academic and financial empowerment for Muslims, urging them to steer clear of negative influences.

He echoed the call for adherence to Islamic teachings during Ramadan.

He emphasized the need for Muslims to demonstrate love and affection towards one another, recognizing the month as a time for spiritual growth and community support.

"I am calling on all Muslims to forgive each other and build a united front for socio-economic development of the country.

"We must know that Islam is a peaceful religion and as this year’s Ramadan is ongoing, he entreat all Ghanaians especially, Muslims, Traditional and Religious Leaders to forgive one another as enshrined in the Holy Quran to foster peace in unity to build a better Ghana for development," he noted.

He stressed that there is a perception that lslam youths are always known as violent people so therefore advised the youth to avoid Election violence.

Citing this year as election year, Alhaji Idrisu Lartey further urged all Muslims to remember Ghana in prayers this Ramadan for peace before, during and after this year’s general elections .

He advised the youth to disassociate themselves from electoral violence for the  coming general election. 

Alhaji Idrisu Lartey used the opportunity to wishe all Ghanaians Ramadan Mubarak.
