NDC Congratulates Multimedia’s Erastus Asare Donkor For Winning The Best Journalist Of The Year
THE NATIONAL DEMOCRATIC Congress (NDC) has congratulated Erastus Asare Donkor of the Multimedia Group Limited for emerged as the PAV Ansah GJA Journalist of the Year at the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) annual flagship event to reward good journalism.

Erastus Asare Donkoh’s story titled “Destruction for Gold” saw him pick the ultimate among other journalists. He also picked up an award for the illegal mining category.
The recognition was conferred on him at the Accra International Conference Centre on Sunday, October 29, in an event themed, “Leveraging media freedom to sustain the democratic and security architecture! The litmus test of election 2024″.

However in a press statement and copied to Soireenees.com, the National Communications Officer of the NDC, Lawyer Sammy Gyamfi noted that "On behalf of the National Democratic Congress, I would like to congratulate Multimedia’s Erastus Asare Donkor, for winning the Journalist of the Year award at the 27th GJA award ceremony. 

The statement noted that there is no gainsaying the fact that this award is well deserved and a testament to his relentless devotion to the fight against illegal mining and its debilitating impact on our environment.
According to the NDC, journalists like Erastus Asare Donkor, are standard-bearers of what true patriotism is.

"At the very peril of his life and sometimes in the face of intimidation from the powers that be, Erastus Asare Donkor took his lenses into various forest reserves and hard-to-reach places to expose the underbelly of the Galamsey menace that has assumed alarming proportions under the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration," the statement noted.
Undoubtedly, according to the statement, this award will motivate and encourage he and others like him to sustain the fight to protect and preserve our environment, from wanton destruction by a few greedy persons. 
The statement stressed that the NDC salutes his courage and resilience and says congratulations to him once again.
