The member of parliament for Affutu constituency who doubles as deputy Majority leader in parliament Honorable . Alexander Afenyo Kwamina Markins has advised the youth and the general public not to look down on vocational and technical skills, since it has the potential to turn their lives around.

He explained that it was unfortunate that most of the youths have turned against vocational and technical skills in Ghana with the perception that only school dropouts and people who fail their papers attend Vocational schools.

Honorable Afenyo Kwamina Markins has implored society to place a premium on vocational skills and do away with white-collar jobs.

The member of parliament made this statement during the commissioning of the ultra-modern Library, computer lab, and fully equipped fashion design practical center at Winneba National Vocational Training Institute  (NVTI) today.

He has assured of empowering the youth with logistics to take up vocational and technical skills as lifetime opportunity.

Meanwhile, the principal/Manager for Winneba National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI) Mr. Martin Ekow Young has expressed his profound gratitude to the member of parliament for the kind gesture in supporting the Vocational Training education in the area.

Mr. Martin Young noted that  As Oliver twist always ask for more,  fence wall , spacious Assembly Hall, inadequate teachers quarters, vehicle for monitoring and others are major challenges facing the school at such calling on higher authority to put punitive measures in place to fix it .
