Honourable Abdullai Muktada has appealed to Assembly members and opinion leader's in the district to give him the needed support to bridge the gap between the area and other districts in the country.

President Akufo Addo's nominee, Honourable Abdullai Muktada has been confirmed as the Chief Executive Officer for the Nanton District of the Northern Region.

The Electoral Commission today on Monday, 27th September 2021 continued its elections for the presidential nominees in the Northern Region.

Nanton and the Saboba District Assembly respectively are on the spot for the exercise today. At the Nanton District, the presidential nominee, Hon Abdullai Muktada at the end of the polls secured twenty-six votes representing 100%, with zero votes.

The Nanton Assembly has twenty-six (26) members, 20 elected Assembly members with 7 government nominees.

In his acceptance speech, Hon Abdullai Muktada called on residents of the area to protect the peace they have acquired for the fast development of the district.

He appealed to Assembly members and opinion leader's in the district to give him the needed support to bridge the gap between the area and other districts in the country.

He assured his readiness to work with the member of parliament for the area.

Hon Abdullai further thanked the President and Members of the Assembly for imposing confidence in him.

The Immediate past District Chief Executive for the area, Hon. Abdullahi Abdul Rahaman on his part sent his gratitude to the President of Ghana for giving him the opportunity to serve.

He advised the DCE to consult widely before taking any decision at the Assembly.

He further charged the DCE to play an intermediary role between the government and supporters of the party.

In attendance was the Northern Regional Minister, Alhaji Shani Alhassan Shaibu, the Regional Police Commander, COP Timothy Yoosa and Alhaji Inusah Dagomba, NPP Northern Regional Chairman Aspirant.

At the time of the report, preparations were underway for the election of the presidential nominee for the Saboba District.

President Akufo-Addo released names of nominees of Metropolitan, Municipal and District Executives (MMDCEs) to work in his second term.

Therefore, the list was forwarded to the various regional ministers for their confirmation at the Assemblies.
