The over 20 years devastated road network that connects Assin Brofoyeduru, Akropong, Wurakese, in the Assin Central Constituency, and Akyem Akenkansu and  Akyem Oda in the Eastern Region has finally seen a facelift by the CEO of Top View Hotel in Assin Brofoyeduru who is also a philanthropist by name Agya Manu.

Assin Brofoyeduru to Akyem Akenkansu is 8 kilometres long and 2 kilometres with a steep hill has been given a renovation by the philanthropist.

Commuters and drivers who ply the road heaping praises on Agya Manu for the benevolent gesture said, the portion of the road serves many indigenes including one popular mortuary in the area but was damaged and ridden by potholes and develops slippery during the rainy season.

Giving an instance, the residents and drivers told Soireenews that, they usually carry dead bodies on their heads from the mortuary to safer places since cars find it difficult to drive through the valley, so for an individual like Agya Manu to construct that portion of the road and lay chippings on it is a great relief for drivers and passengers.

On his part, the Chief of Assin Broyeduru, Nana Agyapong Ntrada in an interview with Central Regional Soireenews Correspondent, Abusuapanyin Kojo Ahinful told that all efforts to get the attention of the successive governments to heed to their cry concerning the road has been an exercise in futility.

Nana Agyapong Ntrada praising the philanthropist for his kind-hearted also called on Nana Addo's led NPP government to come to their aid.

Finally, Agya Manu, the philanthropist expressing his motivation to grade and gravel the road narrated that it was very sad to see dead bodies flying in the air to the ground as they fell from the heads of those carrying them to a safe place for drivers.

And also, drivers charging exorbitantly charge from passengers due to the poor nature of the road.

He, therefore, appealed to other individuals and Non-Governmental Organisations to aid the people of the area by constructing the other portion of the road. He spoke with Soireenews.
