62 -year -old Father Arrested To Be Prosecuted

Nicholas Opoku a 62-year-old man has been arrested by the police to be punished by the law for forcibly having sexual intercourse with his underage biological daughter.

The culprit, Nicholas is reported to have started his sexual abuse of the 14-year-old daughter when she was aged seven.

According to reports gathered, the man began this act by inserting his fingers into the [private part and climaxed his despicable sexual act with penetration as the daughter grows.

Nicholas Opoku and his daughter’s mother were married for some time, but things got sour and they divorced.

The victim has since been living together with the father and sleeping in the same room.

The last straw that broke the camel’s back was when the victim, a Junior High School (JHS) student returned from school to meet the man she has been calling her father in the room and as she put down her school bag, he grabbed, undressed, pinned her down to his bed and forcibly had sex with her.

Unable to stand the sharp pain, she cried for help, forcing Opoku to jump up from her, hurriedly dressed up, and dashed out of the room.

The girl locked herself up in the room and made a telephone call to her mother to rush to take her out of the place or she was going to commit suicide.

The mother quickly responded – went to the place with four other persons to rescue her and filed a formal report with the police.

Opoku has already appeared before an Accra Circuit Court presided over by Christina Cann, criminally charged with incest and indecent assault. He denied the crime and he was granted bail in the sum of Ghs100,000.00.
