$60k Blown At foreign Affairs Ministry For No Work Done.

The Auditor-General has uncovered that an amount of $60,000.00 has been paid to a construction company without work done by the ministry of foreign affairs.

The chairman of the public accounts committee of parliament, Honorable James Avardzi Klutse inquire from the Auditor general the authenticity of the company to those monies were paid to.

Rep from the Auditor general department who were present at the public hearing wanted more time to verify the originality of the said company which was received at the end of the day but the chairman went ahead and read details of the company and letters of instructions for payment.

The chairman of the committee indicated that the said company (Glinco construction and engineering limited) was incorporated days after the money was paid to them. 

Meanwhile, the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and regional integration Honorable Kwaku Apratwum has promised to get back to the committee for proper answers.

In an interview with the chief director of the, he admitted that, yes, the ministry has paid an amount of $ 60,000.00 even though, there is no ongoing work.

He told the media that, according
 to the request by the committee, the will furnish parliament with the details of whether the company that received the money was indeed a genuine one.
