4 dead in accident at Dunkwa-Offin

Four people have been reportedly confirmed dead in an accident on the Dunkwa-Obuasi road in the Central Region.

Fourteen others sustained various degrees of injuries, and are on admission at the Dunkwa Government Hospital.

Per an article by the 'ghanareport monitored by soireenews.com, the accident involved a taxi and a sprinter bus which collided head-on, Monday[ December 28,12,2020], evening.

According to an eyewitness, the taxi was heading towards Dunkwa with four persons on board.

The driver, on reaching a section of the road at the outskirts of Manukrom heading to Kubi Junction, had a burst tire and veered off his lane to the opposite direction, and collided head-on with a Sprinter Bus with 18 passengers on board.

In an interview on Kasapa FM, a  passenger onboard the minibus said the taxi driver attempted to overtake a leading vehicle.

The case is under investigation at Dunkwa Offin Police Command.
