The suspects claimed the victims have stolen their bag of cement and the only way to punish them was through assault.

Three members of Yahuda Church, in Kwahu Osubeng in the Kwahu South Municipality of the Eastern Region, have been arrested by the Kwahu Praso Police for assaulting a mason and his apprentice.

William Ofori Akwaboa reports that some of the residents are demanding the authorities to shut down the church after an assault by some of the church members on two young people who were accused of stealing a bag of cement meant for a church building project without proof.

The church members allegedly assaulted Davis Kwaku Atta, and Samuel Kwaku Asiedu, a mason and apprentice.

The Assemblyman of Osubeng Electoral area, Honourable Festus Mensah narrated that Davis is a Mason apprentice, he and his master Samuel were keeping some bags of cement in the same place where the members of the said church were keeping theirs for their building project.

The church members alleged, "a bag of cement was missing, and Davis Kwaku Atta was their prime suspect. They claimed the only law they know was to assault the suspects without proof".

"When their victim, Davis had escaped from their assault, they found Samuel, the chief mason with Davis, the apprentice the next day, and they attacked him as well which ignited the curiosity of the residents and reported the incident to the Kwahu Praso Police".

The  Praso police were able to arrest three suspects, Yahuda Makuus, Brother, and Koose. The fourth person, Gamay is currently at large, while investigations into the assault continue".

Speaking to Soireenews (SN24) reporter, William Ofori Akwaboa, the Assemblymember, Hon. Festus Mensah confirmed the story, saying they want the church to be  shut down, following the danger it posse's to the residents and the nearby communities.

He narrated that the Praso police issued a police form to the victims to be sent to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for treatment and insisted the Yahuda church promotes wee smoking and must be shut down.

Residents say the church is promoting the smoking of marijuana ( ‘wee)’ among church members, which Some angry residents of Kwahu Osubeng in the Kwahu South Municipality have called on authorities with immediate effect to shut down the Yahuda Church with immediate effect.
