The MCE disclosed that an Education Infrastructural audit has been tasked to deal with the challenges in the sector by the Municipal Oversight Committee on Education.

Honourable Elijah Adansi-Bonah, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Obuasi has disclosed that the Assembly has prioritized education by spending a chunk of its capital expenditure on Education. 

He said this when he delivered his speech as a guest speaker at the 6th Quadrennial (53rd) Municipal Delegates Conference in Obuasi.

He again revealed that since 2017, the Assembly has committed a whopping GH5,104,158.75 into education. This he said can be seen in the building of classroom blocks, provision of furniture, granting of scholarships and sponsoring of BECE mock Exams.

On bridging the infrastructural gap in education, Honorable Adansi-Bonah asserted that the Municipal Oversight Committee on Education which he Chairs has been tasked to conduct Education Infrastructural audit to deal with the challenges in the sector.

In another development, the Ghana Highway Authority has presented Bicycle, reflector bag and reflectors to the Municipal Chief Executive to kick Start a Road Safety campaign.

The bicycle will be given to a volunteer who will work in an accident-prone area near a school in the Municipality to facilitate easy crossing on trunk roads by School children.
