The Central East Regional Police Command has arrested 26 persons suspected to be internet fraudsters. 

The suspects including two females were arrested by the police based on intelligence. 

According to the Security Service, the suspects were arrested at Ironcity, a suburb of Kasoa from three houses occupied by them.

During the raid at the houses, the police retrieved 31 laptops, 26 assorted mobile phones, 3 machetes and some dried leaves suspected to be cannabis, Indian hemp ("Wee") including some toffees also suspected to be containing cannabis.

Central East Regional Police Commander DCOP Okyere Boapeah Kojo speaking to Central Regional Soireenews Correspondent, Abusuapanyin Kojo Ahinful said the suspects are currently been screened for onward prosecution.

He has admonished Ghanaian landlords who rent out their apartments to foreigners particularly Nigerians to conduct proper background checks on them including finding out about their eligibility status from the immigration service. 

He added that his outfit together with operations men are poised to ensure the drastic reduction of crime within Kasoa and its environs.
