Maradona played four FIFA World Cups, including the 1986 World Cup in Mexico where he captained Argentina and to victory and won the Golden Ball as the tournament’s best player.

He is remembered with his dribbling prowess and his ‘Hand of God’ tag after punching the ball over the despairing leap of Peter Shilton and into the back of the net in a World Cup quarter-final against England.

The former Barcelona playmaker was a title winner at every club he played for in Argentina, Italy and Spain.
