Lille skipper, Jose Fonte has advised Manchester City to be at their best against Paris Saint Germain if they want to progress into the finals of the Champions League.

According to the Ligue1 star, the only way Pep Guardiola’s side can beat last year’s European finalist is to wind up Neymar.

Lille secured a win 1-0 against PSG at the Parc de Princess when Neymar clashed with defender Tiago Djalo as the game progress and was given marching orders for his part in a melee.

Fonte joined talkSPORT Breakfast ahead of Wednesday night’s mouthwatering encounter and per his counselling, the dismissal of the 29-year old from the game will be key.

“He does indeed get very easily wound up. Although he got sent off quite late in the game, they were losing so he was he quite frustrated,” Fonte explained.

“I’m sure that you hope he has learned from his mistakes, but if you have a player that is quite good at winding up people then I think that could be quite a good tactic.

“If Neymar is not playing then it’s so much easier, so let’s see what happens tonight.”

Oh how Pep Guardiola’s men can exploit Paris Saint Germain, Jose Fonte expressed that, “the way we did it was pressing them high."

“It was by playing together, defending in numbers and with a low block,” Fonte added.

“Everyone did a great job, the forwards and midfielders did extremely well to help. That was the only way to stop them – in our case.

“Then with the transition, we were able to create a lot of good occasions, but it’s definitely a tough challenge and you’ve got to pay attention at all times – especially to them two [Kylian Mbappe and Neymar].”
