We will claim Songhor Lagoon with our last drop of blood-ASLA boldly declares

The struggle for the reclamation of the Songhor Lagoon by the Ada Songhor Lagoon Association and the over 35,000 residents according to the leadership, is not going to see an end anytime soon until success smiles on them.

This, according to them, is because the group is resolute to go all out to aid in the success of their pursuit.

Given that, ASLA is serving a stern notice of its unwavering resolve not to back off its move regardless of internal and external forces militating against it.

"We need our land back", the group reiterates.

ASLA believes that letting go of the Songhor Lagoon into the hands of what they termed "an illegal and "galamseyer, McDan" will mean a slap in the faces of their ancestors.

Given that, the group has affirmed its resolve to sustain the fight even at the peril of their dear lives.

"Songhor Lagoon which our ancestors with the help of the Gas and Ewes, fought in two separate wars against the Ashantis and which we currently live and work on for over hundreds of years, is now being claimed by this "notorious land grabber, McDan" as his property with the connivance of some self-seeking chiefs and Nana Akufo Addo government. But, we are firm on our convictions that we are not letting it go", ASLA stressed in a statement.

The group further added, "Our compatriots, Bro Sampson Agbove at Salom is still with several police bullets in him endangering his health. There are 50 fellow Adaali-abime, citizens who are being persecuted by authorities for just occupying their land just because someone's quest of creating a monopoly on sea salt for McDan alone. We stand resolved to resist with our blood", ASLA reaffirmed.

"Suffice us to say, we can never forget all those who suffered and lost their dear lives during the 20-year reign of terror by S.C. Appenteng.Today, we are suffering worse brutalities and atrocities in the hands of Daniel McKorley with the connivance of our paramount chief, Nene Abram Kabu Akuaku III, and the Traditional Council fully backed by the ruling Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo just as it happened during the time of Appenteng", the statement continued.
