Kofi Jamar has shed away his bitterness and is choosing to look into the future in positive light.

The prodigious Kumerican artiste, who was nominated in 7 categories for the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, surprisingly won none.

He gracefully noted that the night was still one of the biggest in his career as he got to perform on stage with other Kumerican artists like Yaw Tog.

“The night was a thrill fam. Although we couldn’t back any awards, I still had one of the biggest nights in my music career. And this is a stepping stone to further greatness. Thank you all for sticking with me.” He wrote.

He was nominated for the Vodafone Most Popular Song of the Year, Collaboration of the Year, Best HipHop Song of the Year, EP of the Year, Collaboration of the Year, Reggae/Dancehall Song of the Year and Hip-Hop Artiste of the Year.

Kofi Jamar had painfully spoke about getting at least three awards from his seven nominations since he is not too greedy with awards.

The 'Ekorso' hitmaker had earmarked for the Vodafone Most Popular Song of the Year, Collaboration of the Year and Best Hip-hop Song of the Year out of the seven.

“It’s a great feeling because looking at last year, that was my first entry. Last year I came in as unsung. This year, grabbing 7 nominations and being in the same space with my fellow Kumerican. I think this is the time that Kumasi got the chance to breakthrough. And I am proud to be part of the squad representing out here.”

Kofi Jamar rose to the spotlight after his brilliant single 'Ekorso' which earned him many nominations at the awards.

Before the track, he was still a largely unknown underground artist.

"This time around the excuses are no more, they all want a feature on the song and you can tell that it's part of human nature,”

“Ekorso blew up by itself. There was not much work put into the promotion. Much was not done for it in terms of finance. It just blew up because of the trend and it's spreading like wildfire. Although we are not making some plugins we are supposed to make, it is pushing itself,” he noted.
