President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has revealed that the Cashew Development Authority is putting measures in place to standardized the country's cashew product.

The President reviewed this during a radio engagement with the people of Techiman and the Bono East region as a whole.

According to him, the prices of our cashew is now ranging from GHc 4.00 to GHc 5.00 per Kilogram as compared to the GHc 2.00 per Kilogram last year.

This according to him is a sign in a good direction to ensure cashew farmers gets a proper return on the value of their work.

He disclosed that the Cashew Development Authority is charged to improve six to seven main cash crops which includes mango, rubber, oil palm of which the most important one is cashew.

"There are so many different people involved in the cashew production, involving producers, marketers, traders and many others who all have to be putting proper on the value chain to stable the cashew production". The President revealed.

Nana Addo hopes that before the 2022 cashew season, the Cashew Development  Authority will be able to standardize the nation's cashew production. 

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo urged cashew farmers and the Bono East region and the nation at large to form a unified body that will spearhead their welfare.

He made mention of the fact that there is a unified body for cocoa farmers which makes it very simple for the government to regulate the activities of cocoa farmers for their own benefit.

He disclosed that the Cashew Development Authority is tasked to ensure all cashew farmers are registered under one umbrella to enable the government to extend its helping hands to them all.
