Water Shortage Hits Nkoranza South, Residents’ Suspect Financial Misappropriation

Part of Nkoranza south Municipal is hit with acute water shortage but residents blame the situation on financial misappropriation on the part of suppliers.

According to them, management of the Nkoranza water supply is not up to the task hence the shortage.

The shortage of water they say has caused an increase in typhoid cases while others suffer various skin conditions.

The implications on the residents especially women who do various house chores are unbearable and tiring.

The angry residents told the media that they suspect mismanagement since they claim to have paid for services rendered to them.

They are however calling authorities as a matter of urgency to resolve the situation.

Meanwhile, some of the staff of the Nkoranza water supply have reportedly petitioned the manager Mr Kofi Ohene Sakyi, and accountant Mr Fei Shiaman over the shortage.

Mr David Sarkodie, Technician of the water supply told Soireenews that workers have not been paid for the past three months.

Mr Sarkodie said workers are worried about the current state of the company and demand answers from management.

He was also convinced that revenues generated since May this year have been mismanaged.
