Uneasy Calm At Akroma Gold Mining Company Limited In Kwahu West District

Ghanaian workers at Akroma Gold Mining Company Limited, a gold mining company operating at Pankese in the Kwahu West District of the Eastern Region have staged a massive demonstration to register their displeasure against the Chinese employer who allegedly pulled gun to shoot a Ghanaian worker of the company, Mr Charles Boateng
The protest which was held on Monday January 16, 2022 at the premises of the company has since created tension and confusion within the company as well as affecting commercial operational activities of the company.
The Ghanaian workers carried out the industrial action to register their displeasure against the lastest action being taken by an Chinese worker to pull a gun to shot Mr Charles Boateng following misunderstanding between the two.
The pulling of the gun by the Chinese worker made Charles Boateng to run for his life but since this heartbreaking incident happened, the management of the company has not taken an reasonable action to resolve the matter.
The refusal of the management to resolve the matter has compiled the Ghanania workers to stage demonstration to demand for the justice in the matter.
Speaking in an interview with journalist, the workers noted that they cannot sit aloof for the Chinese worker to pull gun to shoot their colleague, Charles Boateng who used to be a Ghanaian- Chinese language translator within the company.
Narrating his ordeal to journalists, Mr Charles Boateng stated that the Chinese workers allegedly pounced on him and that when he tried to defend himself, the Chinese national allegedly went to his car "with a top speed to go for a gun in the heat of the argument.
He stated that if he has not run for his life,the Chinese employer could not have finished his life by now.
