Two suspects have been arrested by the Ashanti Regional Police Command on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, in the murder of a journalist at Ejura in the Ashanti Region.

The Ashanti Regional Police Command updated that the two suspects, Ibrahim Issaka alias Anyars and Fusseini Alhassan in the attack and murder of Ibrahim Mohammed alias Kaka, aged 45 and resident of Dagomba line, a suburb of Ejura in the Ashanti region are currently in custody.

According to the Ashanti Regional Police Command Public Affairs Officer, ASP Godwin Ahianyo “both were arrested at about 10:45 pm on Monday that is yesterday 28 June 221 following police intelligence."

He made known that the Witness account showed that the deceased was ambushed in front of his house when he was returning home, on his motorbike at about 1:30 am on Sunday 27th of June, 2021.

“He was rushed to the Ejura government hospital and was later referred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, where he died at Midday 28 June 2021.

“Police investigation will also extend to remote that the deceased was a journalist and a member of the fix the country movements to ascertain if the murder was linked to his work or movement.
