Two people were apprehended with guns at Banda Nkwanta, and two more are still on the loose.

Two suspects, including a girl, were captured and detained by police in Banda Nkwanta in the Bole District of the Savannah Region, while two others, both males, are currently on the run.

The two suspects, Issah Bari, 34, and Amina Osman, 25, were cited by area Community Volunteers for an unlawful gathering in front of a local Guest House (Good Boss Guest House) in the Banda Nkwanta Community between the hours of 9 and 10 pm on Sunday, May 29th, 2022, allegedly planning to commit a crime, and were arrested and handed over to the Police.

The two are being held in police custody in Banda Nkwanta, where they are supporting police with their investigations while a search is carried out for their accomplices who are still on the loose.

According to a source at the police station, they (suspects) were thoroughly searched and the following items were discovered.

A pistol, a dog chain, a long cutlass, three live bullets, and a knife were all made locally. In their two different bags, they had two packets of gold seal cigarettes, two hats, three smartphones, five keypad mobile phones, one light jacket, two shirts, and an unspecified amount of money.

"All four suspects are of Fulani extraction, and they are worrisome," the source said.

Some of these herdsmen's actions are simply criminalizing the vast majority of people who are, in some way, innocent.

With this arrest, the Savannah Region now has five arrests tied to a crime.

Two were involved in the assassination of late lawyer Richard Badombia, who was shot and killed on the Bole Bamboo highway, and those in the Banda Nkwanta community.
